How Does it Work?
The Community Watch is a simple but effective mechanism to immediately inform people in your area if you are in distress or have a security concern. Simply SMS your security alert to our alert system and it will be immediately forwarded to all the members in your Watch Group. Add your local police or security company to your Watch Group for even better results. Their sms's are sent for free.
What Does it Cost?
Dev Squared Designs is concerned about the levels of crime in South Africa, and as such provides this system as a free service. There are no administration or joining costs. As a Community Watch member you will only pay for the alert sms's delivered to you. Alternatively, a Watch can be created with a central SMS credit pool, where the members do not pay for sms's.
How do I pay for the Alert SMS's delivered to me?
If the Watch is subscription based, you can either purchase sms credits directly from Dev Squared Designs or simply use our shortcode to topup your sms credits. If the watch has a central sms pool, members do not pay for the sms's as they are purchased by the watch administrator.
How do I join a Watch Group?
You can join an existing Watch Group if one exists for your area by viewing the existing Watch Groups and submitting a join request. If a Watch Group does not exist for your area, create your own Community Watch Group and invite people in your area to join.
